Photography Workshops

Learn photography with intention, not pressure

These workshops are designed for people who want to better understand their camera, slow down, and feel more confident creating meaningful photographs—without being overwhelmed by technical jargon or gear talk.

I’ve run my first in-person workshop and plan to offer more throughout the year. Each session is thoughtfully paced, welcoming, and grounded in real-world experience.

What These Workshops Are Like

Photography workshops can sometimes feel intimidating. These aren’t.

My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where questions are encouraged and learning happens naturally. We focus on why things work, not just which buttons to press.

You can expect:

  • Clear, plain-language explanations

  • Practical examples you can use immediately

  • Time for questions and discussion

  • A comfortable pace that leaves room to breathe

No rushing. No pressure to “keep up.”

Who These Workshops Are For

These workshops are a great fit if you:

  • Are new to photography or still finding your footing

  • Feel unsure about camera settings and shooting modes

  • Want to understand light, composition, and intent

  • Prefer learning in a small, approachable group

  • Enjoy thoughtful conversation as much as hands-on practice

You don’t need the latest gear—or any prior experience beyond curiosity.

What We’ll Focus On

Topics vary by workshop, but commonly include:

  • Understanding your camera (without memorization)

  • Exposure fundamentals: light, aperture, shutter speed, ISO

  • Seeing and composing a photograph intentionally

  • Developing confidence in your own way of seeing

Each workshop is built to meet people where they are.

A Thoughtful, Small-Group Experience

I keep workshops intentionally small so there’s time for individual questions and conversation. This allows space for real learning—not just information delivery.

My background in teaching and mentoring shapes how these sessions are run: structured, clear, and human.
